Quick Hits - The Game Yesterdays & Fast O's News...

Well, the Baltimore Orioles lost to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays by a score of 6-4 last night. Starting pitcher Steve Trachsel got hit hard last night, giving up six runs in the fourth inning. Before the fateful inning, Trachsel looked good and was able to get by with mixing up his pitches and throwing strikes.

Trachsel was hurt by giving up walks in the fourth inning, and then Brendan Harris, Ty Wigginton, Delmon Young, Carlos Pena and Rocco Baldelli all drove in runs.

Brian Burres entered the game to relieve Trachsel and stop the bleeding.

The Orioles offense came Nick Markakis as he drove in Brian Roberts in the first inning, but a comeback was nearly mounted by the team as Jon Knott hit a monster 3-run homer to get the score to 6-4 in the eighth inning, but that’s all they would get.

Devil Rays starter Casey Fossum would win the game, and reliever Al Reyes earns the save.

With the loss, the Orioles win streak ends at 4 games.
