MASN Press Announcement: Baseball TV Lineup...

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network's television lineup will feature two Hall-of-Famers, two World Series MVPs, and an All-Star roster of broadcasting talent when the network begins telecasting both the Nationals and Orioles games for the 2007 season.

The network is adding sideline reporters to its game coverage to provide more insight into the action on the field. MASN will also offer new 30-minute pre-game and post-game shows, Nats Xtra and O's Xtra, as the network provides the level of unmatched access that only a team-owned Regional Sports Network can provide.

For Orioles telecasts, ESPN veteran Gary Thorne will cover play-by-play for the Orioles games on MASN, sharing time with returning announcer Jim Hunter. Thorne joins a seasoned squad of Orioles broadcasters that includes Hunter, Hall of Famer Jim Palmer, Buck Martinez and 1983 World Series MVP Rick Dempsey.

Home-grown Baltimore sportscaster Amber Theoharis will be the Orioles sideline reporter.

Hosting the new O's Xtra pre-game and post-game shows will be Jim Hunter and Rick Dempsey, while Baltimore sports guru Tom Davis will share hosting duties with Hunter.

"MASN has assembled the strongest, smartest, most entertaining broadcasting team anywhere. Their knowledge of the game and their experience in the field will bring fans closer to the action as MASN provides unmatched access to the Nationals and Orioles," said MASN spokesman Todd Webster.

The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network is the television home of the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles and is the only team-owned Regional Sports Network in the mid-Atlantic. Because the network is owned by the teams, it can offer fans unmatched access to the action on the field and behind the scenes.

MASN is the Official Cable Network of Georgetown Hoyas basketball, and offers the biggest college basketball package in the country with over 150 NCAA matchups.
