Not Much to Say, Orioles Lose to White Sox; Tommy Hunter Struggles...

This week, the Orioles have been riding high in Chicago; however, on Wednesday night it all came to screeching halt. The White Sox earned their first win of the series with an 8-1 drubbing of the Orioles in the Windy City.

There’s not much to be said on part of the Orioles. Endy Chavez plated in a run in the second inning, but the bats were quiet after that.

Jake Peavy – who started for the White Sox, and is 2-0 now on the season – held the Orioles to one run over seven innings, and gave up only four hits.

Sadly for Baltimore, pitcher Tommy Hunter (1-1) got shelled. He took the loss and only went 5 2/3 innings and gave up eight runs – all earned – on nine hits. Ok, a positive -- he struck out eight.

He still lost badly.

Hunter didn’t have it at all. He had two strong starts to begin the season; however, yesterday he just could not get his pitches to be effective and gave up a run in each frame except the first inning.
