About Last Night: What A Game! Orioles Finish off Mariners in 13...
I'll have more in the morning, as I literally just got home. What a long night.
In the midst of a four game losing skid, the Orioles finally won on Tuesday night, defeating the Seattle Mariners, 7-6 in a crazy 13 inning thriller. It was ugly at times, but the fans who came out to Camden Yards last night sure got their money's worth.
The Orioles are now 15-19 on the season and there's nothing like free baseball.
They took a 4-3 lead into the ninth inning, gave it up, but yet battled and grinded the night away to emerge victorious. The Orioles had umpteen men on base and could have blown the game open several times, but in the end, everything ended up all roses. Felix Pie and Matt Wieters drove in the deciding and winning run in the bottom of the 13th off Seattle reliever Brandon League.
The offense came through when it counted, as Matt Wieters went 2-for-7; meanwhile, Adam Jones (who drove in three runs), Vladmir Guerrero and Nick Markakis had three hits.
