Daisuke Matsuzaka in Beer Ad...
Another fellow who will probably bring us all a world of content this year is Daisuke Matsuzaka. I'm sure ESPN will cover every game he does initially, but it should be some good stuff.
This video above features Daisuke in a commercial for Asashi Super Dry Beer. Ok, I am assuming he does not chug the whole thing in the spot, but boy, can he chug it down (ok, so it looks like he did). He dons the Red Sox uniform and struts his stuff, it's all good. He stands proud, confident and sure of himself; therefore, he'd better keep that composure when he hits Fenway.
Assuming he can chug beer like that, he'll fit in Boston just fine.
Hehe.

I am in Boston now and listening to the sports radio talk it appears some people are upset with the ad. They don't like the fact that their new savior is drinking beer in commercials, because kids might see it and say if Daisuke is doing it I want to do it.
Really? Oh boy. D-Mat in controversy even before throws a pitch in the majors - only in Boston. Good grief.
Have they not been to um, a sporting in the last 3 decades?
I wrote about this over at my blog. The controversy is that MLB doesn't allow its players to endorse alcoholic beverages. But with the marketplace being different, MLB International signed off on this.
I say leave well enough alone.
The spot was done in Japan and marketed to that country - totally irrelevant. Thanks to the magic of Youtube, and the media, we here can see it..
However, baseball franchises make plenty as it is from concessions which, um, includes beer...
