A former Marine, he spent his first 12 seasons with the Yankees, and played on seven World Series winning teams. He spent his final two seasons with the Kansas City Athletics.

Rest in Peace, Hank.

Other Orioles Stuffage:

As well, the Orioles.com website has an interview with head groundskeeper, Nicole Sherry, only the second woman in MLB history to hold that post.

Mike Boehm of Orioles’ Magic has a look at Nick Markakis and looks at if he can build upon his solid 2006.

MLB Stuffage:

Bernie Williams: Yankee mainstay Bernie Williams has rejected the team’s offer of a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, according to The New York Times. He’ll try to stay in shape, spend time with his family and wait to see if the Yankees change their minds and offer him a guaranteed roster spot. Wow.

Chan Ho Park Signs with the Mets: Chan Ho Park reached a preliminary agreement with the Mets on a $600,000, one-year contract, giving the team another option for its starting rotation heading into spring training. As we know, Park signed a monster contract with the Rangers several years ago and was a severe bust.

Happy Trails: Jeff Fassero is retiring from baseball after winning 121 games over 16 major league seasons.

Maybe You Should Keep Your Day Job?

Athletes want to be actors, and sometime actors want to be athletes. However, would an athlete want to be a wrestler?

Well, David Eckstein, A.J. Pierzynski and Johnny Damon think so. Anyhow, on a recent episode of TNA Impact shown on Spike TV, Johnny Damon hit wrestler and White Sox trainer Dale Torborg in the back with a steel chair. Apparently, Johnny Damon is a big fan of the sport, and has appeared in the crowd in WWE events and in action in TNA Wrestling.

Anyhow, A.J. Pierzynski & David Eckstein are also huge fans of wrestling, and have been involved in quite a few TNA events during the past few years. Right now, on TNA broadcasts, they both are in a feud, and Dale Torborg has teamed with up A.J. Pierzynski, and wrestler Lance Hoyt is on a team with David Eckstein.

The two men will have a key role in an upcoming pay-view and Hoyt and Torborg will fight for Eckstein and Pierzynski, respectively.

Well, it makes for good TV, whether it’s real or fake.

I realize people die every day and baseball players are not immune. But is it just me, or has there been a rash of former player deaths lately? Sad.

Yeah, I know. Just the circle of life, I guess - one more link to the past leaves us.

Within the past month, 3 old school Orioles have passed away and for the hardcore and elderly fans, it's been sad.

Thanks for comments, Sooze
