The War of the Worlds - The Turner Hoax in Boston
We live in a very crazy world. Ok, in you case you didn't hear, the city of Boston was in a panic because two guys who worked for a marketing firm employed by the Turner Broadcasting Company decided to place electronic cartoon devices around Boston. Sorry, you can't hang devices with wires and battery packs on bridges and buildings without causing a ruckus whether the threat is real - or imagined.
Personally, I'd say perhaps before 9/11, the police over-reacted, but in the world we live in today, no. These days you don't know what could be a threat or not, but it was kind of stupid for these men and Turner Broadcasting to do this stunt in a major American city.
In the end, life will go on, but I feel sorry for the cops who had to deal with the situation, and the commuters whose day was turned upside down. However, Turner Broadcasting has earned more publicity than what the signs would have brought anyway for some show, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force", I and much of the nation has never heard of.
The video from a Boston station is below...
Then you have the brain surgeons arrested for the crime giving a press conference and holding court with the media.
Sigh.
