Baseball Great Frank Robinson to be Honored Tonight at the George Washington University ...
I am attending this event, albeit I am still sick. I left work early to take some medicine and rest, but be rest assured I am here at the George Washington University in Washington D.C.
Taken from the the Press Release via the George Washington University:
Academics, authors, and legendary athletes will gather at The George Washington University to celebrate "The First," the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's landmark integration of African American players into major league baseball on April 12, 2007, at 5:30 p.m., in the Jack Morton Auditorium of GW's Media and Public Affairs Building, located at 805 21st St., NW, Washington, D.C.
The event will feature the return to Washington, D.C., of Hall of Fame player and Major League Baseball's first African American manager Frank Robinson, who will receive the inaugural GW Jackie Robinson Society Community Recognition Award for his contributions to baseball and our nation. The award will be presented by W. Russell Ramsey, incoming chairman of the GW Board of Trustees and a former member of the GW baseball team.
Should be a fun time and interesting to see considering Sunday is Jackie Robinson Day throughout baseball.
