Quick Hits - Fast O's News & the Rundown...

The Baltimore Orioles last night lost to the Detroit Tigers 3-1 in chilly conditions once again at the Yard.

The crowd was much smaller for the second game of the season, with an attendance of a little under 19,000.

The big question mark in the rotation, Jaret Wright was amazing and had a shut-out going into the sixth inning until he left due to shoulder issues.

However, the game was lost in the sixth inning as Brian Roberts made a huge throwing error to first base (as Placido Palanco slid into second base) while attempting to make a double play that allowed a run to score.

Before the play with Brian Roberts, Placido Polanco got on first base with on a sacrifice bunt as third baseman Melvin Mora and Scott Williamson had some miscommunication.

Corey Patterson hit a solo homer in the 8th inning, but the Tigers were able to take advantage of the Oriole errors and win.
