After ten years in the Baltimore Orioles organization, tall right-hander Daniel Cabrera was not tendered a contract by the Baltimore Orioles; thus, making him a free agent.
The Orioles attempted to deal the right-hander, 27, at the recently completed winter meetings but couldn't find a fit. So they cut ties with the wildly inconsistent but talented Cabrera, who likely would have made between $3 million and $4.5 million this year had he been offered arbitration. He wouldn't have been eligible for free agency until after the 2010 season but is now free to sign with any team.Good luck wherever you end up, D-Cab.

I would not be surprised to see him down the Parkway in Washington.

It's kind of sad that he never developed. I'm sorry to see him go.
I agree, he's got the physical pedigree, but he pretty much reached the end of the line in Baltimore.
It seemed like he was going through on-the-job training and never really learned to how pitch.
He was always a thrower and not a pitcher. Even Laski surgery could not help him but I do wish him luck.

He's got a load of natural skills; however, he was not learning the game after 5 or so years, and it came to a point where nothing was working.
I hope he figures it out, but sometimes you have to know when to move on.
