The Orioles Whipped 12-0; The Rundown

In late August, Mike Mussina was on the verge of perhaps losing his spot in the Yankee rotation and perhaps into early retirement.

The rumors were greatly exaggerated.

He pitched seven innings, struck out six and walked one, as Yankees just trashed the Orioles, 12-0, at Yankee Stadium.

Once again, the rotation looked woeful, and after his strong start last week, Jon Leicester got lit up. He last only four innings and gave up six runs, all earned.
Thereafter, the bullpen could not stop the bleeding. Rocky Cherry came in and pitched two innings, and gave up an earned run; however, Francisco Cabrera came in, pitched a third of inning & was torched for four runs.

In the end, the Oriole offense was futile, and the Yankees came away with an easy win.

The Evil Empire has won 11 out of 13, and are ONLY 2 ½ behind Boston.

Give the Yankees credit, I never thought they would ever come back and surge like this…

The Baltimore Sun has a recap of the game, as does the Orioles MLB site, Orioles Hangout, & Washington Post

Something that is plain obvious and I have said over and over, the Orioles sucking this year and in past seasons has turned killed attendance and HAS HURT a lot of businesses. Let’s forget that the team has problems on the field, a lot of people are staying away not only because of the performance, but the in-experience. There a lot of good people being hurt by the Orioles’ dismal play, and things need to improve sooner rather than later.
