The O's Need to Find Another Spring Training Home...

The Baltimore Orioles will have to find a new spring training home as they failed to convince the Fort Lauderdale City Commission to build a new facility to rebuild Fort Lauderdale Stadium and replace Lockhart Stadium. The team tried to put in another proposal after years of negotiation, but the Fort Lauderdale City Commission refused and closed the issue.

The area will be leveled for practice diamonds and soccer fields. The Orioles will be in Fort Lauderdale in '07, but afterwards is another story.
