The Game Yesterday: Orioles Lose a Heartbreaker to the Angels 4-3, Chris Ray Serves Up Another Game Winning Homer...

For the Orioles, it has been a season of recurring themes and yesterday in California, a scenario that has happened throughout 2007 reappeared.

Once again, the Orioles bullpen could not hold a lead and it lost yet another game.

One of the most feared hitters in the game and perhaps with the most violent swing in the sport, Vladmir Guerrero hit a two run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 9th inning off Chris Ray to lead the Angels victorious over the Orioles by a score of 4-3.

The Angels kept the game tight as Ervin Santana only gave up three runs over seven innings, but the surprising Jeremy Guthrie once again pitched a great game for the black and the orange as he went 8 innings, only gave up 3 hits, and allowed 2 runs, only giving up on that was earned.

Jeremy Guthrie got the no decision.

The red-hot Brian Roberts had three hits, and Melvin Mora homered in the 7th inning. As well, Nick Markakis and Jay Payton drove in a run each.

The Orioles take on the Mariners tonight in Seattle.
