Pettitte and the O's?

From the NY Daily News: "The Orioles apparently made a late, unsuccessful run at Pettitte, offering four years and $66 million, according to a baseball official. Hendricks would neither confirm nor deny any Baltimore involvement."

Frankly, as much I love Andy Pettitte, I see no way why he would want to come to the Orioles. Anyhow, he was probably only willing to go to the Yankess or stay in Houston. According to all accounts, he's looking to perhaps retire soon and spend more time with his family. As much as I can respect the O's in being aggressive in respect to Pettitte, but to go after him might have not been worth the effort (assuming there was a deal made to him). The money should be used on perhaps another starter like Mulder, or a big, productive bat.
