Quick Hits: O's Beat Tampa Bay 1-0, and the Rundown...

Well, last night the Orioles won an incredible game as they beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 1-0, as Aubrey Huff hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to send O’s fans home happy.

The Orioles and Devil Rays had a great pitching display take place according to Roch Kubtako of the Baltimore Sun. Erik Bedard pitches seven strong innings, while James Shields who pitched for the Devil Rays went nine strong innings.

Spencer Fordin of the orioles.com has a recap of the game, as does Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.

Chad Bradford has been hit hard as of late, and he’s given up quite a few hits. According to Michael Gluskin of the Baltimore Sun, Sam Perlozzo has noticed that Chad Bradford’s sinker is coming in high to hitters and thus makes him vulnerable to hits.

As well, within Gluskin’s article, there is more on Jay Gibbons, Adam Loewen and the pitching situation.

Jay Gibbons and Kevin Millar are not happy with their playing time right now, thus, both men complained to the newspapers, but Sam Perlozzo is trying to accommodate both. However, both guys have struggled and according to David Ginsburg of the Baltimore Examiner, Perlozzo will play the guy who is hot and playing well.

David Steele of the Sun thinks that the investigation into steroids in the Orioles clubhouse and around baseball has a spin on it. According to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post, the whole issue with steroids and the Mitchell Investigation is a non-story within the Orioles’ organization.

Adam Loewen, as well know is out for the next 2 months, and he’ll need rest for that period and not throw a ball at all. Spencer Fordin of the orioles.com has more on the story with Loewen.

Orioles’ legend Cal Ripken got to visit the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and got to touch many of the priceless artifacts on display…
