O's Lose in Boston 7-4; The Rundown

On Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles lost again to the Boston Red Sox, 7-4.

The O’s returned to the scene of the now infamous Mother’s Day Massacre and the Sox took 2 of 3 from the black and orange.

They played a well fought out game; however, the seventh inning was their undoing as the Red Sox tattooed a four spot thanks to an ineffective Rob Bell.

O’s starter Jeremy Guthrie was a bit off, going five innings plus and giving up three runs.

Rob Bell only pitched 2/3 of an inning, and gave up four runs, all earned.

Both the red-hit Corey Patterson and Jay Payton drove two runs in each for the O’s.

Baltimore heads to Tampa Bay where they have a three game set (and hopefully sweep).

The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Examiner, the Washington Post, Oriole Magic, and Orioles Hangout have a recap of the game.

Sun bloggers, Roch Kubatko and Bill Ordine have their thoughts on the events of Thursday in Beantown.

Congrats to Erik Bedard for being named the AL Pitcher of the Month!

Jeff Zrebiec pens an article about the bullpen situation, so could changes be abound? Could Buress be in the ‘pen full-time now?

The Baltimore Sun has a question for Aubrey Huff, this time about his struggles at the plate and his batting stance…

Meanwhile, Melvin Mora is working his way back from the DL

As well, they have a question for Brian Roberts – this time about Dave Trembley’s status…

Matt Palmer believes that the Orioles not acquiring Mark Teixiera was a bleesing in disguise – I agree! Thanks, I have more than one person who agrees with me about Tex. He’s a fine a player, but he would have been worth it for the Orioles if they were in contention. I feel that we should go after him when he’s a free agent and see what the organization can do.
