Phil Rizzuto Passes Away at 89...

Phil Rizzuto, the Hall of Fame shortstop during the Yankees' dynasty years and beloved by a generation of fans for exclaiming "Holy cow!" as a broadcaster, died today. He was 89.

His nickname was "Scooter".

I remember him from back in the day from doing the "Money Store" commercials as a kid, and he calling games on TV, but he was a fine player and a good person.

It will surely be a somber day for Yankee fans, young and old nation wide, for a great ambassador who was around the game for so long.

Rest in peace, Phil.
