The Orioles' Holiday Lunch Party, This Afternoon at the ESPN Zone...
This afternoon, the blog had the opportunity to attend the 29th Annual Orioles' Holiday Lunch Party at the Baltimore ESPN Zone in the Inner Harbor.
Although it was overcast and damp out, that could not temper the excitement of about hundred or so local area kids from the George Washington Elementary School.
Fan favorite & Orioles all-star second baseman Brian Roberts, pitchers Jeremy Guthrie and Jamie Walker, & legends Scott McGregor, Rick Dempsey and Dave Johnson gave a little bit of their afternoon to revel in the holiday spirit and put a smile on the faces of the youngsters in attendance.
Throughout the event, the players along with the Oriole Bird served food, interacted with the kids, and signed autographs. Guthrie, Roberts, Gibbons, Walker along with Dave Johnson also joined their special guests on the upper level of the ESPN Zone and joined them in arcade games and other fun stuff.
Towards the end of the event, they handed out presents to children in attendance.
The highlight of the afternoon was seeing Rick Dempsey as "Santa Claus", singing and having the kids join along with him, which was nothing less but a joy to see.
