A Tale of Two Mikes: Vick to Surrender Early, Start His Sentence; Mike Tyson In the Slammer, Again...
It looks like Michael Vick will start his jail time earlier than expected...
'Michael Vick made arrangements Monday with the U.S. Marshall Service to voluntarily self-surrender to begin serving his sentence before his sentencing hearing on Dec. 10, sources told ESPN.
Vick began serving his sentence Monday not because of a violation of any condition of his bond, the sources said.
Vick turned himself in so that he can begin serving his sentence earlier, meaning whatever sentence he receives on Dec. 10 potentially will end earlier.
Vick's sentencing hearing before Judge Henry Hudson will take place on Dec. 10 in Richmond, Va., which is when he will find out the extent of his sentences for chargers he pleaded guilty to in his dogfighting case.'
It looks like troubled boxer Mike Tyson is back in the slammer again - a place he knows all too well...
From CNNSI.COM: Mike Tyson was sentenced Monday to 24 hours in jail and three years' probation for drug possession and driving under the influence.
The former heavyweight champion had pleaded guilty in September to a single felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor DUI count.
yson had faced a possible maximum sentence of four years and three months in prison.
The charges stemmed from a traffic stop in Scottsdale last December.
Police pulled Tyson over after the boxer had spent the evening at Scottsdale's Pussycat Lounge. An officer said he saw Tyson wiping a white substance off the dashboard of his black BMW, and that his speech was slurred.
Authorities said they found bags of cocaine in Tyson's pocket and in his car.
Tyson told officers later that he used cocaine "whenever I can get my hands on it," and that he preferred to smoke it in Marlboro cigarettes with the tobacco pulled out, according to court documents. He also told police that he used marijuana that day and was taking the antidepressant Zoloft, the documents state.
Since his arrest, Tyson checked himself into an inpatient treatment program for what his lawyer called "various addictions."

Micheal Vick is smart starting his jail time now, because he'll get out early then expected. And if the NFL doesn't take action after Vick is released, then Vick has a chance to start football practice next season in training champ.
Of course, he's expecting to make it back into the NFL to resume his career (assuming if Goddell doesn't suspend him after his release...)
Plus, he might get some time credited or reduced since he is being proactive...
