I’m planning on going and taking in the festivities. It should be an interesting time and for those of you who live in the Baltimore/Washington area and love baseball; this might be an event worth going to.

Join Hall of Fame pitcher Robin Roberts along with other former Orioles and local sports stars at Sports Legends on Friday, February 9th, as we kick off the 2007 baseball season by celebrating the 112th birthday of the sport's greatest star, Babe Ruth! Ticket price includes admission to Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards, unlimited food and beer, free parking at Camden Yards, and a free tour of Geppi's Entertainment Museum. For the first time ever, members of the Babe Ruth Museum will be invited to take an exclusive "white-glove" tour of the Sports Legends archives. A silent auction will feature a collection of unique memorabilia, including replica jerseys of the 1966 World Championship Baltimore Orioles, worn and autographed by the players during the reunion gala held in October 2006.

Baltimore Raven Edwin Mulitalo will be present to receive the first annual Babe Ruth Community Service Award, in honor of his work with Big Ed's Band Foundation, which provides instruments and musical support to Baltimore-area schools.

Birthday Bash ticket holders will also be invited to attend a special ceremony at the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum on Tuesday, February 6th at 5:30pm. The evening will feature a special guest speaker, a presentation of unique Babe Ruth artifacts by Museum curators, and a champagne toast and birthday cake in honor of the 112th anniversary of Babe Ruth's birth at 216 Emory Street.

Tickets to Babe's Birthday Bash are $40 for Museum members, $45 for non-members, $50 at-the-door on February 9th, and $40 each when 10 or more tickets are purchased together. To purchase tickets or for more information, please call 410-727-1539, ext. 3013.
