Quick Hits - Fast and Early O's News...

Morning everyone, it’s cold as hell here in Maryland, but it’s sunny and warm in Florida and the Orioles are playing very good baseball. So, it’s March and the games mean nothing, and plenty of teams have done well in March only to flatline when the real competition begins, but so far, things are really encouraging. Daniel Cabrera looked awesome in yesterday’s outing where the Orioles won 8-7 (however, the relief almost blew it).

Spencer Fordin of the Orioles.com has a piece on Daniel Cabrera and how he’s doing so far in Spring Training.

The Washington Post’s Jorge Arangure also has his thoughts on Daniel Cabrera.

The Baltimore Sun’s Jeff Zrebiec has a piece on Melvin Mora, and he wants to win and show that he’s worth the 3 year, 24 million dollar contract.

Brian Roberts is close to a contract extension, and it may include a limited no-trade clause according to Roch Kubatko and Jeff Zrebiec.

Roger Cedeno is happy to play again and is fighting for a spot.

The Baltimore Examiner has a piece on coach Dave Trombley, and a recap of yesterday’s spring training game.
