Quick Hits: O's News & Back in the Fold...

Hey everyone, I am back in the fold and I’ll give a quick rundown of things with the Orioles and around baseball.

Steve Trachsel got lit up on Thursday, and he doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Jay Gibbons also played first on Thursday and though he didn’t see much action, he felt a little out of comfort zone. Roch Kubatko reports that the Orioles and Brian Roberts’ representatives are set to talk about a contract extension. Erik Bedard does not find the pressure of Opening Day a big deal – in fact, he doesn’t really care about as he started of the Grapefruit League hot.

The Baltimore Sun has a Q&A with Todd Williams & lithe super-utility man Brandon Fahey.

Roch Kubatko updated his blog with happenings from camp and a recap of the first games of spring training.

The Washington Post’s Jorge Arangure also has pieces on Erik Bedard’s development and the expectations of an on Opening Day start, Chris Ray’s work on Friday. As well, there are notes on Steve Trachsel and his aforementioned bad start and Jay Gibbons.

The Examiner has some pieces on Todd Williams and the lessons he learned from last year, and also a piece of Chris Gomez going into next season.

The Orioles.com website has stuff on Erik Bedard’s start against the Marlins, as well as notes on him, Chris Gomez and Chad Bradford. There’s also stuff on Adam Donachie, & Steve Trachsel.
