Quick Hits: O's News and Computer Issues...

The Orioles needed a well-deserved day off, as they are in the home stretch of spring training before heading back up north the middle of next week.

I’m still in Florida, but now I am getting a Windows error on my laptop, so I and my road partner, are at a Marriott business center (which by the way they charge the hell out of you) while I blog. I am going to need to buy a Windows XP CD when the stores open up and hope to rectify the issue.

The great Thomas Boswell of the Washington Post pens a great article on Peter Angelos. Keep in mind, Boswell is no fan of Angelos, but articulates much what most in the media and fans have felt over the past 2 decades.

Before I go further, take a chance to read Mike Boehm’s piece on him at Oriole Magic. He does a great job pointing the quotes, misquotes, assumed truths and half truths that Angelos has said over the course of his ownership tenure.

The team has made a lot of changes in the off-season, and hope translates into great success in 2007. Piece by Roch Kubatko.

The offense has struggled, but the bullpen has been remarkable and a source of strength for the Orioles.

Erik Bedard will be the Opening Day starter against Minnesota.

As well, he’s primed for a big year, but he’s taking things as they come and not making a big deal about it.

Here’s an article from the AP about the Orioles’ young pitching staff, and how they have to go through ‘on-the-job-training’.
