Quick Hits - Fast O's News & the Rundown...

Good news out of Oriole land! Everyone’s favorite Oriole (especially for women), Brian Roberts has agreed to a 2 year extension worth $14.3 million dollars. Although he was nearly traded, he’s part of the core of the team for the next few seasons.

The Orioles got beat by the Marlins 4-1 yesterday. Daniel Cabrera was way off yesterday, after being lights out in his first two outings. He got lit up in the third inning thanks to uber-star Miguel Cabrera and his 3 run homer. The bats were quiet again for the Orioles...

More from the Orioles.com about yesterday’s game.

Take a quick read of the Washington Post’s Amy Shipley’s take about the game and the battle between Daniel and Miguel Cabrera.

Spencer Fordin notes the O’s bullpen is good shape with the veteran arms acquired.

Sam Perlozzo think Jay Payton is the man in left field and should get most of the starts there because of his defensive abilities. I find that interesting considering from the looks of it, Jay Payton would be a 4th outfielder and Huff would see the majority of time in left field.

Huff may be first baseman, while Millar and Gibbons fight for DH time. As we know, we know how Millar felt about that.

Peter Schmuck has some criticisms about MASN after the network shot some promos in Florida yesterday. He thinks that the network got off to a slow start with their promotions and gripes about the network not being available in high-def (HDTV).

There’s a Q&A from the Baltimore Sun with budding superstar Nick Markakis. It also seems like Erik Bedard is opening up to the press...

The Examiner has a piece on Jason Dubois, and the Washington Post has a piece of Chris Gomez.

Schmuck's right. MASN should have HD. Hell the CW and VS. networks have HD channels. Get with the program, Pete. You raised a huge fuss over getting your own network, are charging me $2 more a month on my cable bill to carry it, and are making Oriole broadcasts take a step backwards?

BAD MARKETING!!! That's teh hallmark of the Orioles lately. HORRIBLE marketing.

Yep, at this point -- I'd love MASN to have HD.
